School blast: Police look for leads

Last Updated 04 January 2015, 19:27 IST

The Madiwala police are questioning several people to gather leads in connection with Friday’s ‘accidental’ detonator blast at Sai Baba Higher Primary School in Rupena Agrahara, which left three students injured.

A senior police official said: “We are questioning people who work for the private company which was laying underground pipes to connect Madiwala and Agara lakes.”

The police added that the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board had outsourced the drainage project to private companies. The workers are from different places and some of them could have gone back to their native towns or even changed jobs.

In this scenario, it is a tedious process to gather information, the police said. The police are trying to gather information and find out if other private companies were involved in the work. The three injured students who were admitted to St John's Hospital have been discharged and are doing good.
