A doctor who examined Salman Khan at JJ hospital after the 2002 hit-and-run case, informed the sessions court that Khan smelled of alcohol when he was brought for a blood test.

As quoted in DNA, Dr Suhas Pawar, said, "A policeman had come with Khan to the casualty department for carrying out an alcohol test. I had clinically examined Khan, and with his consent, collected a blood sample for further analysis."

The report prepared by the doctor revealed that Khan's breath smelled of alcohol but he was not inebriated as his gait was normal.

"The patient's (Salman) pupils were slightly dilated, speech was coherent and walking steps were normal during clinical examination," Dr Shashikant Pawar told Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat in the court.

Khan is accused of killing one pavement dweller and injuring four others when his Land Cruiser crashed into a Bandra bakery in September 2002.

Khan, charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, faces a 10 year jail sentence if found guilty.
