Sudhakar, chairman of ‘Yogakshema’ and a member of Rotary Bangalore Cantonment, says, “Senior citizens issues have always been neglected, there is no concentrated effort by any organisations working like this, hence we decided to organise as event and get all the other service providers under one platform to help senior citizens.”

Jasbir Singh Dhody, president of Rotary Bangalore Cantonment, says, “The budget for the entire event came up to around Rs 2.5 lakh. We are trying to bring about awareness among senior citizens and trying to facilitate the services which is required for the senior citizens. Senior citizens don’t know where to go to get the basic information and required facilities hence we provide a platform for them to give them information.”

Senior citizens were content with the information provided and by the treatment given. Namagiri, a 74-year-old woman came to get an eye test done.
The nurse told her she had a slight problem with her right eye which needs to be examined and hence she was sent to meet the doctor who was on board.

Another senior citizen, Lakshmi GR found the event extremely helpful in terms of the information provided on various facilities.

Sudha, a resident of Malleswaram, has been benefited by this program. “Since my children live abroad, availing health facilities is a big task. This programme

has helped me get the basic information. Immediate health check-ups and consultation on board have helped me a lot.
