Two persons– a teenager and a hotel employee– were killed in separate road accidents in Chikkajala traffic police limits.

Mohammad Zibran, 16, was killed as a van rammed his motorbike near Noor Nagar on Monday.
The pillion rider Tousif Ahmed sustained minor injuries, said the police.

Zibran, a resident of RK Hegde Nagar, borrowed his relative’s motorbike and picked up Ahmed from Sampigehalli. When they were riding near Noor Nagar, a speeding van rammed their bike and Zibran died on the spot, succumbing to the injuries. The driver of the van fled, abandoning the vehicle, they added. The van has been seized and the police are trying to trace the owner of the vehicle as well as the driver, who is currently absconding.

In the second incident, a 24-year-old hotel employee was mowed down by a car near Hosur Gate junction in the early hours of Tuesday.

Eshwar, a native of Chikkaballapur, had come to the City about three days ago and had landed a job at a hotel near Kempe Gowda International Airport. On way to work on Tuesday, he was crossing the road at the junction when a speeding car ran over him, said the police, adding that the driver then fled from the spot.

The police are trying to identify the car and are also examining the CCTV footage to nab the driver of the car. Both the cases have been registered at Chikkajala police station.
