<p> Chief Secretary to State government Kaushik Mukherjee on Wednesday visited Category ‘C’ mines in Hosapete and Sandur taluks.<br /><br />Mukherjee had visited Dalmia and PBS mining areas on Tuesday and obtained information on reclamation and rehabilitation measures taken up at the sites.<br /><br />Following the Supreme Court orders, the State government has decided to grant 51 ‘C’ category mining leases and it was in this background that Mukherjee visited the mines, sources said. </p>.<p>It is also said that the chief secretary discussed possibilities of afforestation measures using the mining waste dumped in forest areas. <br /><br />The Chief Secretary is said to give his report during the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Friday.<br /></p>
