A bus belonging to Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited, Goa, caught fire due to short circuit at Polem on the Goa-Karnataka border on Thursday morning.
All the 58 passengers travelling in the bus are safe. The bus departed Karwar at 9 am and was on its way to Goa. A fire broke out following short circuit, when the bus crossed Majali on the Karnataka border and was reaching Polem near Goa.
The alert bus driver and the conductor immediately halted the bus and advised the passengers to alight, as the fire engulfed the vehicle. Fire and Emergency personnel arrived on the spot and doused the fire.
