All is fair in love and politics

Last Updated 17 February 2015, 09:04 IST

DK
Kannada (A)
Cast: Prem, Chaitra Chandranath, Sunny Leone, Rishikumarswamy, Shobaraj, Sharath Lohitashwa
Director: Vijay Hampali

DK seeks to be slapstick satire on the state of political theatre. However, director Vijay Hampali turns it into a sloppy show, with a corny tussle between a termagant beauty and her beau. A lucky mascot of her politician papa Shive Gowda, our Subbulakshmi gets cross with village dandy DK when he becomes a hurdle in her dad’s MP ambition. How the two, with their retinue of rowdies seek to be one up on the other in the run-up to political pinnacle forms the fulcrum of DK.

DK, produced by Rakshita, where hubby Prem helms title role, is nothing but bedlam. There is no salvation with film-makers more concerned with making moolah than providing engaging cinema.
