People demand several facilties for Mandya district

The district is celebrating the platinum jubilee of its formation in a grand manner, with the district administration making elaborate arrangements to make it a success.

But, there is a widespread opinion that the district has not developed to the expected level. The dignitaries, who participated in the inaugural function of the celebrations, in Mandya, on Friday, too expressed the same and hinted that this is the right time to introspect and chalk out plans for the complete development of the district.

District in-charge Minister Ambarish, who had invited Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to the programme, appealed for a package for the development of the district.
The people of the district too opine that the government should immediately implement a couple of programmes. Following is a wishlist of the people of the district:

Development of Gaganachukki in Malavalli taluk;  Conservation of heritage structures and provision of basic amenities;  Glass house, similar to Lal Bagh in Bengaluru, in Srirangapatna;  Developing the banks of River Cauvery on the lines of Sabarmathi Ashram;  Upgradation of road from Belagola to KRS;  Development of Melkote;  Mega dairy at Mandya, which is in the first place in milk production;  Solar park at Maddur;  Rejuvenate tender coconut market in Maddur;  Krishi Bhavan in district headquarters;  Introduction of new irrigation projects;  Clearance of encroachment on lakes, filling of lakes;  Sound and light programme at KRS; Comprehensive drinking water project;  Implementation of lift irrigation projects;  Upgradation of the District Hospital;  Electric crematorium in Mandya;  Modernisation of MySugar and Pandavapura sugar factories;  Create awareness on judicious usage of water among public;  Ring road in Mandya;  Construction of satellite city near Tubinakere in Mandya taluk;  Give impetus to tourism industry.
