Known for its jackets, shoes and other outdoor accessories, Woodland’s latest summer collection has a lot more to offer. With summer around the corner, it includes a range of cottons. According to Harkirat Singh, Managing Director, Woodland India, the collection will offer cool comfort to the wearers during the hot season. The ‘Woodland Super Charged Cotton Apparels’ wick away moisture with signature technology and dry five times faster than ordinary cotton. The fabric contains alternate hydrophilic (moisture absorbing) and hydrophobic (moisture repelling) cotton yarns which push out the sweat.

 “Woodland has always been known as an ‘outdoor brand’. This time, we have always tried to make light-weight clothes for the outdoors as well as daily use. For the summer, we have used breathable fabrics that absorb sweat,” he says. “We have developed yarns that dry fast so that you are comfortable and don’t feel fatigued in humid weather,” he adds.

The T-shirts, shirts and pants are available in bright colours like yellow, green and orange. “Youngsters like vibrancy in their clothes. So most of our apparels are bright,” he says.

Even when it comes to shoes, Woodland has a lot to offer this summer. “We have sandals, low cut shoes and boat soles. Most of the shoes are unlined and hence, quite light in weight. Just like the clothes, our footwear too is vibrant,” he adds.

According to Harkirat, the brand is not just targeted at the young. “It’s basically meant for anyone who is active. Nowadays, people are fit and health-conscious at all ages,” he notes.

Ask him what differentiates their products from the rest in the market and he answers, “Our products are specially woven around adventure and outdoors. So they are extremely sturdy. Also, they are ideal for those who love adventure. When you wear them, you know that they are not just fashionable but functional as well.”
