Last Updated 26 February 2015, 20:05 IST

Two Group D government employees were arrested on Thursday for involvement in the leak of confidential documents.

The Delhi Police said they were accomplices of Noida-based energy consultant Lokesh Sharma, who was nabbed with documents of Union Coal and Power ministries on Sunday after a second FIR was registered.

Vipan Kumar, 42, was posted as PA to a member of Union Public Service Commission and his accomplice Jatinder Nagpal, 40, was posted as PS to a Joint Secretary in the Union Environment, Forests and Climate Change department.

“Vipan and Jatinder have confessed to stealing secret documents for many years. They shared a common email ID which was used to forward documents to clients,” said Joint Commissioner of Delhi Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav. They were produced in court and have been remanded to five days’ police custody. Vipan had joined service as a stenographer in Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry in 1996.
