Students from Bengaluru have excelled in the state-level or stage one of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), the prestigious national-level high school scholarship programme organised by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).

Jainam Khakhra and Tony Fredrick from the coaching institute, FIITJEE, are the State toppers. As many as 51 students from the institute made their way through the first round.
Gaurav Goyal, Centre Head, FIITJEE, Bengaluru, said, “Selection of a large number of students in the NTSE from Bengaluru is a moment of pride and it will motivate more students from Karnataka to participate in such prestigious national-level exams in junior classes.”

Another topper, Sanjan Das, a student at Deeksha Academy, secured seventh rank. “It’s a testimony that hard work pays off,” he said. Kshitij Gupta and Sanjana Srikant, also students at Deeksha Academy, secured eight and ninth rank, respectively.

The NTSE stage one is the state-level scholarship programme in Karnataka to identify and recognise students with high intellect and academic talent. Students selected in stage one will write stage two (national level) in May. Students who qualify in this round will be eligible for the scholarship.
