Amethi searches for its 'Missing MP'

Last Updated 25 March 2015, 05:04 IST

Ever since Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi took a 'leave of absence' to reflect on a series of electoral defeats for his party and chart its future course, there has been no news of his whereabouts, therefore residents of his Lok Sabha constituency Amethi have put up posters with a reward for information on their ''Missing MP".

The posters which allege that Rahul lacks vision and is not bothered with developing his consituency, carried the message  “Jane woh kaun sa desh jahan tum chale gaye, na chitthi na sandesh, kahan tum chale gaye''.

Yogendra Mishra, president, Amethi district Congress, was quoted in Indian Expressblaming the BJP saying, “It is the work of BJP. They do not have any respect for personal life of anyone.” The BJP has rubbished the allegations.

BJP workers last month had put up banners in Allahabad town declaring reward to whosoever reveals the whereabouts of Rahul. “Congress’ commander Rahul Gandhi has gone missing...anyone who reveals his current location will be handsomely rewarded,” the posters read.

The Congress has tried to downplay Gandhi's absence he is the leader and will come back soon to play a pro-active role in party affairs.
