Help census staff with social education survey, citizens urged

State Tobacco Development Board Chairman T P Ramesh requested the people to cooperate with the census staff towards the social and educational survey, conducted between April 11 and 30, towards providing government schemes to people belonging to various castes and sub-castes.


He was speaking during a seminar organised by the department of information and publicity in association with the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, department of social welfare, backward classes and minority welfare department and Government First Grade College, at block resource centre in Madikeri on Thursday.

He said that there are financially weaker families in upper classes too and the social and educational survey will be helpful in providing benefits to such families.

Backward classes and minority welfare department district officer K V Suresh said that the survey is being conducted for the first time in India.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Project Officer Shrinivas Officer initiated the programme and released the brochure on the social and educational survey.

Social and education survey department Resource Officer Lingaraju, Government First Grade College Principal Prof Bhageerathi also spoke. BRC Officer Ramaswamy Gowda, BCM department Manager Puttaraju, Information Officer Chinnaswamy and others were present.
