PU student dies as BMTC bus hits his bike

A second-year pre-university student died on the spot when a BMTC bus ran him over in Kamakshipalya on Monday morning. 

Bhargav, 18, a resident of Ranganathpura in Kaverinagar, was riding home after visiting a dry cleaner’s around 6.30 am. The driver could not control the bus and rear-ended Bhargav’s bike in front of Dhananjaya Palace, a wedding hall. Bhargav was flung into the air, and came under the front wheel of the bus. He bled to instant death. The bus was plying from Shigehalli to KR Market. Police arrested the driver, identified as Manjunath, and seized the bus.

Boy electrocuted
A 12-year-old boy was electrocuted while playing cricket near Ayyappa Swamy temple in HSR Layout on Sunday. 

Punith was playing cricket with his friends near the temple. A live wire had fallen on the ground. During the game, the ball was hit into the air and it landed near the wire. Punith, in an attempt to collect the ball, accidently touched the wire and was electrocuted.
He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the police said.

Woman jumps before train
A woman committed suicide by jumping before a running train near a bridge close to the Kengeri police station early on Monday morning. The deceased is about 45 years old and is yet to be identified, said the Bengaluru City railway police. The woman may have been married as she wore a mangalsutra. Police said they didn’t find a death note.

The body was noticed by some local residents who then alerted the police. The body is kept at the Victoria Hospital.
