In a shocking revelation, it has come to light that one of our most respected former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru used to spy on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's kins during his era.

As per a report published in India Today, two declassified Intelligence Bureau files contain relevant evidence to show that Nehru kept an eye on Netaji's family for nearly 20 years.

It's learnt that the Intelligence Bureau which was under Nehru, when he was the prime minister, used to keep a close watch on Netaji's houses in Woodburn Park and 38/2 Elgin Road.

Letters written by Netaji's family were tracked and even the movement of the family members was under surveillance.

Netaji's nephews Sisir Kumar Bose and Amiya Nath Bose were tracked closely as they were very close to the leader.

Taken aback by this news, Netaji's grand-nephew Chandra Kumar Bose, a Kolkata-based businessman, expressed his disappointment over it and stated that Subhas Chandra Bose was not a criminal for the government to keep a watch on his family.

He was a freedom fighter who scarified everything for his nation.

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose lead the Indian National Congress in the late 1920s and 1930s and became the Congress President in 1938 and 1939.

He gave up his presidentship following differences with Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.

He died in an air crash in Taiwan on August 18, 1945.
