Actor Shivarajkumar’s latest release ‘Bangara s/o Bangarada Manushya’ has been received quite
well.

The actor says that he chose to do the film because it had a clear message to convey. His character was also something that he had not tried before.

In an interview with Nina C George, the  actor talks about the film, his role and what makes it different from his previous projects.

Why do you think ‘Bangara s/o Bangarada...’ is different?

The story begins in Milan and swiftly moves to a small village in Karnataka. The transition  of the character  and the change in the setting is beautifully captured in the story. Why my character sheds his stylish ways and takes to a simple life forms the crux of the film.

Tell us a bit about your role in the film?

A lot of people may have found my character arrogant or rude but there’s a definite reason in giving my character a dark shade. People slowly understood why I talk and behave the way I do.

The story has travelled through villages...
The story has travelled through hamlets in Mandya, Maddur, Hubballi and parts of Kanakapura.
It captures the problems of the people in these places. My character  understands and finds solutions to the problems of the people.

Your thoughts on the trend of making big-budget films in the Kannada film industry?

Ours was a big-budget film because the idea was to make the transformation of the character evident to the audience. In this context, I believe that the Kannada film industry has opened up to high-budget films.

Did you have to undergo any major change in appearance?

I didn’t have to undergo any drastic change in appearance. However, I had to tweak my body language to suit the character. As far as costumes are concerned, I had to switch between suits and Indian costumes.

What is different about the action sequences in this project?

The fight and action sequences have a beautiful twist to them. Nothing has been put in just to fill the space.

What are the other projects that you are working on?

There are a couple of them. For now ‘Leader’ and ‘Tagaru’ are ready for release.
