Male Nilluvavarege
Kannada (A) Cast: S Mohan, Kavita Borah, Bhumika, Dattatreya, Sharath Lohitashwa, Srinivas Prabhu, Kari Subbanna
Director: S Mohan

Male Nilluvavarege is one-man show. Director Mohan, playing the lead, has his finger in every pie of the erotic thriller, inspired by English play Deadly Game.

Too slow paced to sustain interest and patchy in its script, Male Nilluvavarege is all about how guilt-ridden conscience meets its nemesis in the end.

The film, utilising typical tropes of mystery thrillers, speaks of how a playboy is snared into an inquisition where he unwittingly confesses to his crime.

A retired judge, former public prosecutor, defence counsel, past hangman and a former prisoner lure the unsuspecting man into their house one rainy night to conduct a mock trial leading to his confession.

Why they do so forms the pivot of Male Nilluvavarege which tries every trick in the trade to spook the audience. Even as you snigger at the attempts, Mohan tries to keep your attention from flagging through tasteless skin show. Still for those who love a teasing thriller, Male Nilluvavarege is their best bet despite its rider — beware of the rain.
