As hollow as it gets

Mr X
Hindi (U/A) Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Amyra Dastur, Arunoday Singh
Director: Vikram Bhatt

Amyra Dastur has a good pair of lungs. And they do a great job of tearing the eardrums.
The lady is also in excellent command of all her faculties. She can smell and tell lover boy Emraan Hashmi from a mile; she is a sharp shooter, bomb defuser and a gifted car-chaser. Oh yes, she is also part of the anti-terrorist squad, like Hashmi.
Always dressed for the ramp, Amyra also has a thing for Hashmi’s shirts. “Why wear those cold, crumpled shirts when a hot guy is here,” her man wonders.

And the viewers are left wondering about a moronic plot where Hashmi goes invisible after gulping down a blue liquid (blame it on radiation), and resurfaces as Mr X.

In between, a chief minister is shot dead and a mean cop (Arunoday Singh, all muscle and menace) goes about killing his own men. Hashmi keeps flitting in and out of his invisible zone, while Ms Dastur frolicks in the pool. She manages to maintain the decibel level, though.

With nothing much visible in terms of acting or story, this 3D sci-fi runs out of steam even before it picks up. Mr X or Y, it’s extra torture for sure.
