JOIN USTraffic jams and snail-paced movement of vehicles were reported around Majestic and the City Railway Station on Friday, following heavy rush for trains and buses in view of the Statewide shutdown called by various Kannada organisations on Saturday.The KSRTC bus stations and private bus operators saw unprecedented rush.
Another reason for slow traffic around Shivajinagar and Majestic area was because of mini rallies taken out by pro-Kannada organisations and supporters of the bandh called over the Mekedatu reservoir issue.
They were moving around Bengaluru in vans, wearing white clothes and carrying the Karnataka flag, telling people to shut shops on Saturday and join the bandh.
Leaders of various Kannada groups went around Bengaluru requesting shopping malls and other business establishments to down the shutters on Saturday.
