Allen Solly has two stunning collections this season — a line for men called ‘Solly Sport’, which has been inspired by The Championships, Wimbledon and the women’s wear which comes in bright colours and attractive floral prints.

‘Solly Sport’ has partnered with Wimbledon to exclusively market a fashionable casual-wear line under a licensing arrangement with Wimbledon. It has an envious range of well-fitted T-shirts that come in different designs. The designers have done well to play around with the colours to not only make ‘Solly Sport’ appear distinct in its design but also appeal to a wider group.

The Allen Solly Women Spring Summer ’15 collection boasts of a relaxed and refined resort lifestyle range that is classic and understated. Talking about what goes into making the clothes for women truly different, the design team says, “The usage of ivory vintage lace gives the clothes an Italian romantic-ethereal and aristocratic vibe. There are colours like rich cobalt and pinks with hints of mandarin, lime, teal and charcoal. The patterns that can be seen are tropical florals rendered in the texture of oil on a canvas.” The use of Tapa cloth and colourful Mexican traditional textiles adds a tinge of softness to the clothes.

The design team points out that the women’s wear is also inspired by tropical prints. “This range is dominated by tie-and-dye, bi-colour stripes, clean block stripes, mini jacquards and retro bi-colour mini geometrics rendered in Ikkat effects.

The fabrics boast of filafil effects, linen blends and slubby textures among others,”
they state. Women get to choose from vintage lace dresses, skater dresses, colourful peg skirts, fun blouses, cardigans and tops, shorts, denims and T-shirts.
