Rs 100-crore compensation sought

 Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council K S Eshwarappa has pressed the State government to release Rs 100 crore to compensate the crop loss suffered by the farmers of North Karnataka due to unseasonal rain in the recent past.

Speaking to reporters  here on Tuesday, he said, “The farmers from various districts in North Karnataka have suffered crop loss to the tune of Rs 350 crore but the chief minister is saying that he would hold a survey by officials and send the report to the Centre to seek a package.
