Superstar Salman Khan's younger sister Arpita Khan Sharma has extended thanks to her brother's die-hard fans for their relentless support, ahead of the verdict today in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving him.

The 49-year-old actor is facing charges under IPC for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which attracts maximum 10 years imprisonment.

Judge D W Deshpande has summoned Salman to the sessions court at 11.15 AM when the verdict is expected to be delivered in the over 12-year-old case. "Today is a big day for us & we know we are not alone. Thank you for your Dua's, love & support always. God bless!" tweeted Arpita, who recently got married to Aayush Sharma in a lavish ceremony hosted by Salman. On September 28, 2002 Salman's car had allegedly rammed into a bakery in suburban Bandra, killing one person and injuring, four others who were sleeping outside. The film industry is keeping its fingers crossed as an investment of about Rs 200 crore is riding on the "Dabangg" star.

His two upcoming films, "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" which stars Kareena Kapoor and "Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo" opposite Sonam Kapoor, are currently in the last "schedule" of shooting.

After Sanjay Dutt, Salman is the second big star from Hindi film industry to get embroiled in a high-profile criminal case in recent years. The "Wanted" star is also facing trial in a Rajasthan court for hunting a black buck during the shooting of "Hum Saath Saath Hain".
