<p>At the N S C Bose international airport here, Advani told reporters, "Despite political differences, it is our duty to pay homage to a great leader like Basu. He had placed the CPI(M) in a commanding position in Parliamentary democracy." <br /><br />Advani accompanied by party president Nitin Gadkari and JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav arrived at the West Bengal assembly premises where Basu's body was kept and placed a wreath on it. Paying tribute to the veteran CPI(M) leader, Gadkari said he would be remembered for his role in farmers' movement.</p>
