Dancing stars of Bollywood

Looks like quick money is too good to resist for our Bollywood stars. No wonder many actors put on their dancing  shoes at weddings and go home with mega bucks. The recent Govani wedding was a classic case. It is reported that Shah Rukh Khan was there for precisely 27 minutes and walked away Rs 3.5 crore richer. While Bipasha Basu charged Rs 70 lakh, Rani Mukherjee, Emraan Hashmi and Neil Nitin Mukesh charged Rs 50 lakh, 30 lakh and 20 lakh respectively for the same wedding.

Akshay Kumar, also for the Govani wedding, reportedly demanded 6 crores instead of his regular 4 crores. Bunty Walia of GS entertainment, who had managed the entire event says, “SRK, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Shahid Kapur are the most in demand today for high profile weddings.”


Divya goes international

Well, the vibrant actress has sure got her kitty full.

With her oh-so-many Bollywood projects lined up for release this year, looks like Divya Dutta is all set to make her mark in the international front too.
After working with Jennifer Lynch in the much hyped snake story, Hissss, Divya has recently bagged another international project.

This time over, the actress is all set to be directed by the award-winning director Fred Holmes for an American film.

We hear that the film also stars Amelia Jackson Gray and Reg Grant and is partly to be shot in the US, and partly in India.

If that’s not all, Divya seems to have a French connection too.
The versatile actress recently had her film Sanyogita — The Bride in Red released in the French territories to an amazing response.

esides, the teaser and promos of her film Haat — The Weekly Bazaar were also screened at the prestigious Cannes festival.
With the whole world looking on, looks like Divya is all set to impress audiences across the globe. Way to go girl.


Documentary on troubled Amy


A documentary is being made on the life of troubled singer Amy Winehouse. The 25-year-old singer and her family opened themselves to the Israeli-American interviewer Daphne Barak for a documentary shot at Winehouse’s retreat on the island of St Lucia. Barak recently spent time with Winehouse and her father Mitch. The documentary is expected to release later this year.


Glitz and glamour

Bollywood A-listers Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur are all set to sizzle on stage at the tenth IIFA awards. Priyanka and Shahid promise to mesmerise the audiences by performing to the title track of their forthcoming movie – Kameenay.
While Kareena’s performance at the awards will have a Turkish-Arabian feel to it.
In one of the songs, the actress will be seen as an Arabian princess dressed in gold harem pants made of silk, satin and lace, designed by the stylish Manish Malhotra. Watch out for the shimmies, hip lifts and drops to the tunes of chartbuster songs, all choreographed by the Bollywood dance guru — Shiamak Davar.

An excited Kareena says, “I’m performing at the tenth IIFA awards this year, and I have been taking belly-dancing classes for my act.”

 “I feel ecstatic about my show since this is the first award function I will be
performing at, this year. Of late, I have become very choosy about where I perform. I am performing at this event since it will give me an international standing. This is also my third consecutive show at the IIFA.”

Sonam Kapoor will also be performing for the first time. While Lara Dutta, Riteish Deshmukh and Boman Irani will be hosting the show.

The guest list includes the Bachchan family, Hrithik Roshan, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kangana Ranaut and Saif

Ali Khan amongst others.

The IIFA Weekend will start on June 11 and the awards will be given away on June 13.
