Last Updated 21 May 2015, 13:24 IST

Actor Emraan Hashmi today took to Twitter to give his fans the first glimpse of his upcoming film "Azhar", a biopic of former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin.

In the picture posted by the actor, a thoughtful Emraan as Azhar, is seen walking towards the field amid cheers, boos and his burning effigy.

"For many, he was a hero for some, a villain. He has been worshippedworshipped, judged and criticised for 30 years," Emraan, 36, said of the 52-year-old former cricketer.

He also posted a picture of himself with Azharuddin and captioned it, "Reel life!! real life!!"
The film, directed by Tony D'Souza, reportedly deals with the many achievements and controversies in Azharuddin's life.

It seems the makers want to generate the buzz around the film much before its release as the film will hit theatres on May 13, next year.

It is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and MSM motion pictures.
