Girls outshine boys again in CBSE Class XII

Girls once again outshine boys in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) Class XII board examinations with their pass percentage reaching 87.56, according to the results declared here on Monday.

The top honour went to M Gayatri of New Green Field School in Saket, Delhi. She secured the highest percentage at 99.2. Out of a total 500 marks, she scored 496 to top the examination, conducted across the country from March 2 to April 20.

Boys were far behind girls as their pass percentage stood at a distant 77.77.
B Arjun of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Thiruvananthapuram, and Saurabh Bhambri of KRM World School, Delhi and Mythili Mishra of Amity School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, got the second place in the list of the country toppers as each of them secured 99 per cent. Out of a total 500 marks, they scored 495.

Poonam Kumari of Happy Evergreen Senior Secondary School, Mohindergarh, Haryana, Gurwinder Singh Saini of Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar Cantt, Punjab, and Nishok Kumar of DAV Senior Secondary School, Mogappair, Chennai, got the third place in the list of country toppers with each of them securing 98.8 per cent. Out of a total 500 marks, they scored 494.
A total 10,16,369 candidates registered for Class XII examination this year, 1.2 per cent higher than 2014, the CBSE said in a statement.
