State records 99.67 pass percentage in CBSE Class X

The State recorded a pass percentage of 99.67 in the CBSE Class X results that were declared on Thursday, a 0.22 per cent dip compared to 2014.


A total of 32,487 students appeared for the exam of which 32, 380 passed, while 107 were marked for EIOP (Eligible for Improvement Of Performance).

In 2014, 26,596 students appeared in the exam.

Ram Padmanabhan of National Center for Excellence, Kagadaspura, one among several students who secured a perfect CGPA score of 10, said:

“I am very happy today and I thank my teachers and parents for their support. I want to take up Maths because it is a challenging subject. I will pursue a science stream in the same school.”
Soujanya U Achar of Siddaganga Public School, Chandra Layout, secured A1 in Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Kannada and English. “I want to study science in PU and later pursue degree in Architecture,” said Soujanya.

Out of the eight states and one Union territory in the Chennai region, Karnataka remained in fifth position. The ranking is based on the pass percentage.

Andhra Pradesh topped the list with a pass percentage of 99.86, while Goa ranked second with a pass percentage of 99.77. Tamil Nadu and Telangana ranked third and fourth respectively with pass percentages of 99.76 and 99.72.

Puducherry, which had the highest pass percentage of 100 last year in the region, came seventh this year with a pass percentage of 99.08.  Andaman and Nicobar Islands registered the lowest pass percentage of 84.28.
