A court in Meerut on Thursday sentenced Priyanka Singh, a former Ms Meerut, to life imprisonment on charges of brutally killing her old parents with the help of her friend around seven years back.
Priyanka and her friend Anju Kumari had repeatedly hit the sexagenarian couple with heavy objects before strangling them at their residence at Prem Prayag Colony in Meerut town on November 10, 2008.
The blood stained bodies of the couple were recovered a day later. According to the prosecution Priyanka was upset with her parents for ‘misbehaving’ with her. “My brother often told me that I was not their (parents) child,” Priyanka had told the cops after the murders.
