Help just a click away

Bengaluru is known for its start-up culture and most companies here are driven by fast-paced technology. ‘Bro4u’, an e-service provider, has proven that simple ideas can work very well when incorporated smartly. With an aim to bridge the gap between customers and service providers, ‘Bro4u’, started in February, provides 18 unique services.

The service was founded by a dedicated team of 17 and provides basic day-to-day facilities, such as providing electricians, plumbers and water services, at the click of a button.

Says Pruthvi, a member of the group, “All the services are unique. We researched on the different kinds of services and figured out which are the most difficult ones. Once a customer adds his area and clicks on the service he wants to obtain, he automatically gets a list of providers.”

The marketing team sources out these service providers and also looks at online reviews for the research. The 17 volunteers are friends from college and high school and through their like-minded ideas and approach, they have more than 500 service providers throughout the City and are also planning to up-scale their services to various metro cities. Now, they have reached a stage where they are looking for investors to fund their start-up.

Pramod says, “I was working for an MNC but realised that business was my cup of tea. We believe that our thoughts should be executed fast. We didn’t think twice about starting this company and within 15 days, we planned everything out.” Pruthvi adds, “Running a business is extremely different from working in a regular office. The entire workmanship and responsibility is on us.”

Pramod, one of the founders, says, “These services are basic but everybody uses them. In the end, both the customers and service providers are benefited.”

A well-planned and organised company, their revenue model also has a three-part approach. The quirky name of the provider came about as the members wanted to
remember it with ease. “It was the result of our informal way of talking and means that a friend is always there to help you out. This is the idea that we want to create,” he says.
They are different in terms of marketing and innovation as well. Without spending much, they get people talking about their products. Pramod explains, “At a recent marathon, the team gave out caps to everyone with their company name which helped them in their networking process.”

The aim of ‘Bro4u’ is to drive technology to the grassroot level.  “It has worked wonders,” exclaims Pramod.
