JOIN US A sub-inspector attached to the City Market traffic police station was manhandled by three men near Bassappa Circle in Kalasipalyam on Tuesday night.
According to the police, Anand, who was conducting drunk-driving tests on motorists near Bassappa Circle, stopped two youths riding a bike for a breathalyser test. The duo, however, refused to take the test and picked an argument with the officer.
Their friend, who also came on a bike, joined the altercation. The trio then manhandled the sub-inspector, snatched the breathalyser and tried to flee. But a few constables assisting Anand duties alerted the Kalasipalyam police who nabbed the trio identified as Sachin, 26, Nitin, 22, and Nitin, 21, all residents of Hanumanth Nagar. All of them were found to be drunk, said the police. Kalasipalyam police have registered a case.
