The Justice Kempanna Commission looking into the Arkavathi Layout denotification case has directed the applicants challenging the land acquisition to first select documents they require, so that soft copies can be provided.

It suggested them to go through Google maps and other documents submitted by BDA, Urban Development Department and Revenue department and compare them with those available with the Commission for selection.

Following a submission by the land owners and the BJP, counsel S Doreraju - during the second hearing of the Commission on Saturday - sought directions to furnish him with the hard copies.

The chairman said that the documents being voluminous (1.5 lakh pages), it would be difficult to furnish the hard copies and the maps.

The Commission suggested the counsel to sit with the officials of the Commission and select the documents.

“We will provide you soft copies of the documents you require,” Justice Kempanna said.
Doreraju told the Commission that the government agencies were not furnishing the documents required for arguing the case.

Government counsel Vijay Kumar A Patil and BDA counsel Sunil Dutt Yadav denied this and said that the applicants need to specify the details of information required.
Kodihalli Chandrashekar, president of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, submitted documents to the commission, regarding the denotification of land acquired for Arkavathi Layout so far.
