Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said the State government is not inclined to issue fresh mining leases in the district but it will hold the survey as planned earlier.
Speaking to reports here on Saturday, the chief minister said "As per the notification issued in 2003 has identified nine mining blocks in the
region.
The joint survey of the blocks have been taken up. The government will take an appropriate action after the report was submitted," Siddaramaiah said.
A proposal has been submitted to the Supreme Court seeking permission for auctioning 15 ‘C’ category mines. A reply is awaited, he said.
