I always feel nostalgic here. I have shot for two films, Bewakoofiyan and my debut, Vicky Donor. So, Delhi has a special place in my heart,” Ayushman Khurrana told Metrolife. In the city to attend the screening of his last outing, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, on the sidelines of the Jagran Film festival at Sirifort Auditorium, Khurrana jokingly remarked, “Though, I keep coming every month, I can’t have enough of the city.”

Having done theatre from Chandigarh, he came to Delhi. He says, “I was a radio presenter for two years. Then, to pursue my acting dream, I went to ‘Bombay’ but became a video jockey and an anchor. After four years of shows, Vicky Donor happened without audition and the response was surreal.”

While being happy with the success of Yash Raj Films’ Dum Laga Ke Haisha “riding on content, realism and performances, critically and commercially,” the 30-year-old actor adds, “I am completely shooting this year with no releases.”

Revealing his plans to add to his singing side, “After success of my last single Mitti di Khushboo which I composed and sang, I am jamming again with Rochak (Kohli) and others and will be out with a single soon,” he excitedly shared with Metrolife.
With a huge fan following and many people aspiring to be like him, he wrote a book for newcomers called Cracking the Code.

“My book is all about my real life experiences and not about my success or failure. It’s about my journey to Bollywood not journey in Bollywood and it is just the beginning,” the actor says.

He shares a piece of advice, “It is difficult to be objective with oneself. Have a peer-group which shows you the mirror.”
