Uniform rent for all district ranga mandiras mooted

Plans are on the anvil to fix uniform rent for ranga mandiras in all district headquarters. The work on giving a touch of technology to Kannada and Culture Department is in progress, Minister for Kannada and Culture Umashree, said.

Speaking after inaugurating Sangama Sambhrama 2015, organised by the Department of Kannada & Culture, all the 13 academies, one study centre and two authorities here at Pilikula on Saturday, she said e-ticket reservation system has been introduced for Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru. 

To give a feeling of technology to Kannada, literary works, recordings of Keerthane have been uploaded in the Internet. The number of works uploaded will be increased in the future, she added.  
“Through Kannada and Culture Department’s mobile application newshunt, 100 classical works including Vachana Sahitya, Dasa Sahitya have been uploaded. The people can read it using the mobile app. Kannada and Culture department is making use of the technology to create awareness on the cultural world of  Kannada Nadu. The honorariums paid for the artistes and various organisations are credited directly to their account. This will help in reducing corruption and middlemen menace. The concerns of contemporary society should be faced with unity,” she added.
 
The minister said such programmes have been organised to bring in unity among academies, study centre and authorities. Santha Kavi Kanakadasa Study and Research Centre Coordinator K T Chikkanna said meaningful pursuits will help in overcoming negative thoughts.

Cultural programmes will create an atmosphere of oneness in a vibrant society. Kannada and Culture department Director K A Dayanand, Pilikula Nisargadhama Executive Director Prabhakar Sharma, MLA J R Lobo and others were present.

Folk artistes from across Karnataka had descended on Pilikula to take part in the procession held prior to the Sangama Sambhrama 2015.

The procession had ‘Siddavesha,’ tiger dance, ‘Naveelu kunitha,’ ‘Kangeelu kunitha,’ Yakshagana, ‘Holi nritya,’ Koraga dance, ‘Keelu kudure,’ ‘Daff,’ ‘Kolya Kalasa,’ kolata, ‘chende, band, Kodava valaga.

A tableaux on atrocities on women by Karanataka Tulu Sahitya Academy was an added attraction. The art exhibition by Lalithakala Academy and books exhibition were also inaugurated.
