Hong Kong property developer, Forise Investments, has taken the next step in its push to build a new $700-million tower in Surfer’s Paradise in the state of Queensland, Australia, by lodging a development application with the Gold Coast Council.
The application describes a new 88-storey mixed-use tower to be built on a 3,500 sq metre site formerly housing a beachfront resort.
According to the development application, the building will feature 693 apartments over 85 levels and a three-storey podium comprising a 225 sq metre cafe, a 2,400 sq metre restaurant, and a 310 sq metre tourist shop.
The developer, according to The Australian, bought the site for about $48 million from an entity associated with the US investment bank Goldman Sachs.
