The State Health and Family Welfare department is yet to receive the report on the death of infants, who died after immunisation at a private hospital in Bengaluru two months ago.

Two infants died after they were administered with a dose of Polio, BCG and Hepatitis B vaccination on May 25 at the Shushrusha Nursing Home in Yelahanka New Town.

The State Drug Controller sent samples of the vaccines administered to the Central Research Institute (CRI) at Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh. Raghuram Bhandary, drug controller, said they were yet to receive the report from the laboratory. “It is taking time for us to get the sample testing reports but we are hopeful to receive it by next week,” he added.

Hussain Saheb Kazi, Deputy Director (Immunisation), Health department, said “We want to send samples of syringes to the Central Drug Laboratory in Kolkata. Once the drug and syringe test reports are out, it will be easy to analyse the cause of death,” he added.
