Pakistan Prime Minister's Adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz today said he has received a proposal from India for a meeting between National Security Advisors of the two countries on August 23-24 in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi had decided during a meeting in Ufa, Russia last month that their National Security Advisors will meet.
Aziz said India has proposed August 23 and 24 for the meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Radio Pakistan reported.

He, however, said Pakistan has not yet confirmed the proposed meeting and the agenda of the planned talks has also not been fixed yet. During the meeting, the National Security Advisers are expected to discuss cross-border terrorism, bail for Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and other security issues of mutual concern.

Despite the two Premiers agreeing to re-start talks on bilateral issues during their meeting in Ufa, the recent Gurdaspur terror attack has increased tension between the two countries.
