Actor, director and scriptwriter Rakshit Shetty dons multiple roles with ease and finesse. The young man’s acting prowess, ability to envisage things and technical knowledge of filmmaking have already brought him in the forefront of Sandalwood's promising bunch.

Rakshit is currently working on a script that has Sudeep in the lead role. “I am still working on the script and it will take a while before I am done with it. The current script requires a lot of research because I’ve made a lot of references to the World War I in the movie,” shares Rakshit. “The challenge is to blend reality with fiction,” he adds.  This is the first time that Rakshit and Sudeep are working together and Rakshit says that he couldn’t be happier. “It’s been a dream to work with Sudeep. He’s a brilliant actor and a wonderful director. It is definitely going to be an enriching experience because he is someone who is also thorough with the technical side of filmmaking,” observes Rakshit.

As an actor and director, Rakshit wants to experiment with as many subjects as possible. Ask him about his preferred genre of films and he points out that he has acted in just about every genre. “It’s quite challenging to play negative characters, it tests your acting skills. But I would like to dip my fingers in as many different themes and genres as possible,” he says.

He is currently working on ‘Ricky’, which is a romantic-action film and has agreed to work on ‘Godhi Banna Sadharana MyKattu’ that explores the relationship between a father and son. His third project, ‘Avane Sriman Narayana’ is a comedy film. “I have an interesting pool of projects and each one promises to be a different experience,” he says.

The one thing that Rakshit has learnt from the business of acting is, “You have to believe and repose faith in yourself as an actor. There’s always a constant challenge to prove yourself in a very competitive atmosphere.”
