Prof Raghavendra Gadagkar, a professor at the Centre for Ecological Sciences, IISc, received the highest civilian award of Germany, the Cross of Order of the Merit, here on Friday.
Joern Rohde, German Consul General, said in a statement: “It is a tribute to the substantial contribution made by Prof Gadagkar in the field of behavioural ecology and sociobiology. He has worked tirelessly towards strengthening the Indo-German research co-operation.”
He got the award in recognition of his work in strengthening academic ties between the two countries.
