JOIN USGrandfather says Siddhartha is Sheena's dad
While puzzled investigators continue with their task of identifying Sheena Bora’s real father, the latter’s octogenarian grandfather has claimed it is Siddhartha Das, his first son-in-law.
Guwahati-based Upendra Kumar Bora, who along with his wife Dura Rani Bora, are shown as the parents of murdered Sheena in Assam government’s records, said he was her grandfather and not father. When asked whether there was somebody else in Shillong, Meghalaya, who is believed to be Sheena’s ‘biological father’, he said that needed to be explored.
Although police have arrested the high-profile Indrani Mukerjea, wife of TV honcho and former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea, and has been confirmed Sheena’s biological mother on charges of the murder, they are yet to crack the puzzle completely.
They have approached Indrani’s aged parents to dig up more details. What the police have gathered so far is that Indrani, the 43-year-old HR consultant-turned-media and entertainment group owner, had married thrice and mothered three kids, although reports suggest she had several other liaisons and affairs at different points of time.
Besides, it is also confirmed that Indrani was a minor at the time of the birth of Sheena, who probably was her love child. The three marriages that Indrani had were with Tripura-based tea-estate owner Siddhartha Das, Kolkata-based businessman Sanjeev Khanna and the Mumbai-based Mukerjea.
Teen mother
Born in 1989, Sheena Bora was 23 at the time of her murder on April 24, 2012. The 1972-born Indrani would have been 40 then. Mikhail Bora, Indrani’s son, is a year younger than Sheena. Thus, Indrani was in her teens when two of her children were born.
She also has one daughter from Sanjeev Khanna named Vidhi, who is around 17-18 and is studying in the United Kingdom. After divorce, Indrani and Sanjeev Khanna had a bitter custody battle. Once she got Vidhi’s custody, she was adopted by Peter Mukerjea.
