Man kills his mother suspecting fidelity

He enacted a drama, stating that his mother had locked the house and gone out

A man bludgeoned his 42-year-old mother to death suspecting her fidelity, at their residence in Laggere, Rajagopalnagar on Thursday.

The police have identified the deceased as Sushilamma, 42, a native of Tumakuru. She was working in a footwear factory and was residing with her son Shivakumar, a labourer in an iron and steel company.

On Thursday morning around 8 am, Shivakumar picked a fight with his mother and started questioning her about a person visiting her. He blamed his mother for cheating on his father, who stays in Tumakuru. The mother denied and asked him to mind his business.

The duel continued and in a fit of rage, Shivakumar bludgeoned his mother to death with the grinding stone in the kitchen, and went to work after locking the house, police said.
He returned in the evening and enacted a drama stating that his mother had locked the house and had gone somewhere.

According to the police, he asked the neighbours if his mother had left the keys at their places. The neighbours told Shivakumar that they had not seen his mother.
Meanwhile, Shivakumar broke open the lock and raised an alarm on finding his mother dead.

Confessed to crime

On information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem.
They questioned Shivakumar and found blood stains on his shirt and also the keys of the lock were found in his trouser’s pocket. Later, he confessed to have committed the murder.
He was arrested and remanded in o judicial custody, said the police. Rajagopalanagar police have registered a case.
