Development projects lined up for Mandikal
'Prominence had been given for the development of villages in Mandikal hobli in the taluk which is highly backward,' said MLA K P Bache Gowda here on Monday.
Speaking to the reporters he said that funds for the development of SC/ST colonies in the taluk had been sanctioned from Local Area Development Fund. He said that Rs 3 lakh had been sanctioned for the construction of cement road at SC/ST colony in Ramapatna; Rs 4 for the colony at Ramagaanaparti, Rs 3 lakh to the Kaachakadata village and Rs 2 lakh each to the R Chokkanahalli, Nelamaanaparti and Gudisahalli. Siddaganahalli has been sanctioned Rs 9 lakh for the development projects, he added.
Repair work
Bache Gowda said that Rs 2 lakh had been sanctioned for the repair of check dam on Chitravati river at Peresandra. Speaking about the funds sanctioned for the development of roads, he said that Rs 1crore had been allotted for the Ramapatna road which was in a bad condition and was affecting movement of people.
He added that Rs 5 lakh had been sanctioned for the road at Paapi Nayakanahalli and Rs 49 lakh for upgrading the road stretch between Peresandra and Sadali.
Funds have been allotted for the villages coming under Suvarna Gram Yojana, noted Gowda who said that Rs 50 lakh had been sanctioned to Aarur, Rs 21 lakh to Kaakalachinte and Rs 8 to Chikkanagavalli. He added that Rs 20 lakh had been sanctioned for Lakshmisagara tank renovation.
Funds under PMGSY
Speaking about the funds sanctioned under PMGSY he said that Rs 2.75 crore had been allotted for the development roads in rural areas.
Giving a break up of the sum, Gowda said that Rs 1 crore had been sanctioned for development of Nallarallahalli road, Rs 75 lakh for Siddaganahalli road, Rs 50 lakh for the development of road stretch between Darabur and Yadarlahalli and Rs 50 lakh for the road stretch between Kaakalchinte and Hanumantha Nagar and Shettigere and Nallappanahalli.
Bache Gowda added that the projects taken up under Local Area Development Fund were aimed at creating permanent assets. The MLA said that emphasis had been given to quality of works and warned contractors of actions if they failed tomaintain good quality.
