Curtains for IIM-B’s Vista 2010
The three-day business school and corporate summit ‘Vista 2010’ came to a close on Sunday at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) with one of their own, Mario Gonsalves winning the flagship event Numero Uno.
The overall trophy (Altar Vista) for colleges was awarded to NITIE Mumbai, for their cumulative score across events.
Mario Gonsalves, who was crowned the Next CEO was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. Numero Uno tested participants from 15 of the best b-schools across the country over all three days of the festival – in operations and strategy, team-building and entrepreneurship.
A total of 11,000 students and professionals from 170 colleges and 80 corporate houses participated at the biggest B-School summit in India. Vista 2010 had a lineup of 38 events, a majority of which revolved around the theme of sustainability. The event also went green this year with the organisers cutting down on carbon emission by over 2000 kgs as compared to previous years.
Vishwanath S, the secretary of Forum for Industrial Interaction (FII), which organised the summit said “Vista 2010 has been a landmark event for IIMB raising the bar for business summits across the country. We also succeeded in propagating the message of sustainability and energy conservation.”
Day two of the event was marked by the traditional networking dinner ‘Post Meridian’, which was a chance for students and industry experts to network with several professionals from some of the most prestigious business houses.
Other highlights at this year’s summit included an open quiz ‘Bizarre’ by quizmaster turned politician Derek O’Brien and a panel discussion featuring former Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar, Manish Sabharwal, Sidin Vadukut, R K Misra and Krish Ashok.
