Held for the first time here, all RTO’s were connected online for the conference. The revenue collection in particular and other activities of the department were discussed at length during the conference held between 11 am and 2 pm.
Hitherto, the RTO’s conference used to be held every quarter inviting all the RTOs to Bangalore headquarters. By using information technology to the advantage, this video conference has helped in cutting costs like fuel, TA and DA and other incidental expenditure to the exchequer. The department intends to have such periodical review using e-governance in future too.
