The Shoonya Centre for Art and Somatic Practices is organising a screening of the film ‘Unfreedom’ by Raj Amit Kumar on October 10, 6.30 pm.

The film is a contemporary thriller about a society torn apart by political, religious, and sexual turmoil.

Shifting between New York and New Delhi, the film juxtaposes two powerful and unflinching stories about religious  fundamentalism and intolerance. The film stars BAFTA nominee Victor Banerjee and Adil Hussain of ‘Life of Pi’ fame.

The cinematography is by the National award winner Hari Nair and sound design is by Oscar winner Resul Pookutty. The Centre will also be holding a five-day contemporary movement and dance workshop with Diya Naidu from October 19 to 23, 7 pm to 9 pm.

Diya is a contemporary dancer and choreographer and has been trained in many different dance and movement forms.

The workshop will cover elements of form and aesthetics, as well as organic and primal movement impulses. It will include choreography to music and creative tools for those interested in making their own phrases.

The workshop is open to dancers, students of dance, sports people, fitness enthusiasts, yoga practitioners and anybody who is somewhat consistent with movement practice.

Shoonya Centre for Art and Somatic Practices is located at 4th Floor, Rear Wing, Brahmananda Court, No 37, Lalbagh Road.
