JOIN USUGC-NET candidates told to emulate achievers
Chief Conservator of Forest B M Parameshwar on Thursday advised candidates appearing for University Grants Commission’s (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET) to take a leaf out of success stories of achievers like S Radhakrishnan, poet laureate Kuvempu, Infosys founder N R Narayana Murthy, and father of horticulture Dr M H Marigowda.
Addressing the candidates after inaugurating the 45-day coaching classes, organised by Karnataka State Open University Competitive Exams Coaching Centre, Parameshwar said such great persons should be an inspiration for all.
He advised the candidates to acquire knowledge on both history and science as it comes handy at the time of job interviews. Even if one fails to crack an exam, one should strive for repeated attempts to clear it, he said.
The officer advised the candidates not to neglect health at the time of preparation, that may turn into another hurdle in the way of success.
Recalling his student days, Parameshwar said there was a dearth of opportunities then, when compared to the enormous opportunities and guidance available nowadays. The candidates should make judicious use of it, he felt.
Member of Karnataka Media Academy Amshi Prasanna Kumar said general knowledge is vital for any person. It would be beneficial if one reads at least two newspapers everyday compulsorily, he observed.
Vice-Chancellor M G Krishnan advised the students to follow the guidance provided in the coaching classes.
