Pooja Gandhi encourages new producers
Pooja Gandhi has made a fresh start with an untitled film being produced by Ekarudradevi Films, which is new to Gandhinagar.
Dismissing reports that she had taken a break, the actress said she took her time selecting meaningful scripts.
“This is the first film I have signed after Gokula. My character, Sharanya, is a village girl who comes to the City. It is a challenging role and has several shades to it.”
Pooja is paired opposite Raghu Mukherjee and the film is directed by Shiva Ganapathi who had earlier directed her in Anu.
“It is a fresh combination and I hope we click with the audiences,” she says. Pooja has also noticed that film-makers these days are more dedicated towards their work and their homework reflects in the making of their films.
Agreed co-star Raghu, “I play this techie who is a music lover, a youth who is trying to find his place in the society. I liked both the story and screenplay. These people are out to do something different. They are using the Viper camera here."
Director Shiva Ganapathi, who was all at sea with Kannada during the making of Anu has “learnt to speak Kannada 60 per cent!”
He is introducing a fresh pair of composers Ashley Mendonca and Abhishek Lakra who will be composing seven tunes sung by “fresh, local singers”.
“We have approached various reality shows and competitions. One song will be sung by Ritisha. We will also have a club song and a song based somewhat on hip-hop,” says the duo. One of the film's producer Kiran Thotambilu, who became famous for the Raaj-The Showman foreign release controversy declared that this film with a straight subject, would premiere first in the UK, a week before its release here!
But the clamour of photographers and the cameramen to get close to the lead pair nipped that 'controversy' in the bud.
