Actor Aditya escapes unhurt in serial crash

 Kannada film actor Aditya escaped unhurt in a serial accident in Sadashivanagar traffic police limits on Monday evening. However, the actor’s SUV was damaged in the accident.

A BMTC bus, a tempo traveller, a maxi-cab and a goods vehicle were involved in the serial accident and these vehicles were slightly damaged in the mishap. The police booked Aditya and a goods vehicle driver for rash driving.

The accident occurred at 6.50 pm when the actor was driving his car towards the City. The driver of a goods tempo lost control, collided with the median and the vehicle stopped abruptly on Ramana Maharshi Road near White Petal Gate.

A BMTC Volvo bus was following the goods vehicle, while Aditya was following the bus. A maxi-cab and a tempo traveller were following Aditya’s SUV, said the police.

As the goods vehicle stopped abruptly, the Volvo bus driver applied brakes and the bus stopped. Aditya could not control his SUV and it rammed the bus from behind. The front portion of the SUV was damaged in the crash.

The drivers of the tempo traveller and maxi-cab also applied brakes resulting in a serial collision, said the police.

The stretch where the accident occurred is a 20-foot wide road. The vehicles on the 80-feet road near Mekhri Circle come at full speed and the road joins the 20-foot road. Here, the vehicular movement slows down a bit. The land has been earmarked for widening of the road and approval is awaited for to proceed.
