‘I’m a little young for this award’
With a broad smile, that almost touched the corners of his face, Saif Ali Khan entered the room which was packed with members of the media. Even before he settled down, questions were thrown at him.
On being the youngest star to be conferred the Padma Shri, Saif says, “I am a little young for this award. There are far better and deserving people than me who should have got this award. Maybe I don’t deserve this now. In future, there will be a time when I am going to be worthy of it.”
“It is certainly an honour as the Government of India has given me the award. I will work really hard to live up to the award. Good work will constantly continue from my side,” he adds.
Ask him about the protests by the Bishnoi community for his alleged killing of the black bucks, he says, “India is a wonderful democratic country. Everyone here has the right to protest and is entitled to voice out their opinion.”Putting all speculations about his next production Agent Vinod to rest, he says, “Things are fine now, everything has been finalised. Shooting will kickstart soon.” As for his performance in Bangalore, along with Parikrama, he says, “Bangalore has a great crowd and it feels nice to play here. I always find Bangalore crowd better than that of Mumbai or Delhi. The culture here is more open to music than anywhere else.”Further, on Bangalore, he says “Bangalore is really a great place and has awesome weather. Even the hotel where I am staying is so beautiful.” He also did not fail to mention that “Bangalore is the kind of place that Kareena also loves to visit.”
The actor also loves good music and good cars. So in spite of his busy schedule, he manages to spare some time for music. “I don’t practice for hours together. But whenever I do, it is an ongoing practice session. Since finding free time is so rare, I manage to play whenever I find time,” he signs off.
