<p>A day after the Delhi government’s outburst against office land allotment to BJP, the DDA indicated that the decision was taken by the civic agency last year and the Authority did not own the plot given to the saffron party.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The Authority, which is headed by Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, countered Education Minister Manish Sisodia’s allegation that land was not being provided easily for schools and hospitals and claimed the AAP government had failed to utilise the 40 sites given to it for schools.<br /><br />Sisodia on Tuesday accused Jung, with whom Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has had frequent run-ins, of allotting the land, earmarked for a school, to the Delhi BJP to construct an office on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in the heart of the capital. He also sought the cancellation of the allotment.<br /><br />A spokesperson for the DDA said: “Land of BJP office site does not belong to DDA and has not been allotted by DDA.”<br /><br />“The site belonged to Land and Development Office (L&DO),” the Authority said in a statement.<br /><br />“The L&DO had already allotted the land to BJP on 27 November 2014 and the site was handed over by L&DO to them on December 5, 2014. The land falls under the local jurisdiction of North Delhi Municipal Corporation,” it added.<br /><br />It also said the DDA Authority meeting had processed only the change of land use on the request of L&DO for inviting public objections/suggestions in accordance with the DDA Act.<br /><br />“This agenda item was circulated well in advance to all the elected members of the Authority, which included AAP’s elected members,” it said.<br /><br />The DDA also countered Sisodia’s allegation that the central-government controlled Authority was harassing the Delhi government on its requests for land use change in the Master Plan for social welfare projects.<br /><br />“In the last couple of years, 10 proposals of health and education sectors, measuring about 100 acres have been approved by the DDA... about 95 acres of land has been approved for solid waste management,” the DDA said.<br /><br />“Additional land has been provided to the Delhi government for expansion of health and education facilities, including about 13 acres to seven schools and 18 acres to 14 health facilities, such as dispensaries and hospitals like Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya,” the DDA said. <br /></p>
